The best part of this movie is figuring out how exactly this organizm, a government weapon developed by scientists came to exist in its plot, because its quite flawed or downright outrageous. Having existed decades for so long beneath the government’s radar. Without spoiling this movie, I’ll have to leave it at that. Leaving anyone who has seen the movie to conjure a theory on how the organizm was able to be contained in “Vault 12″ for all these years.

Here’s a movie you’d might like to sink your teeth into. Sexually provocative, this comedy horror type film might be most enjoyed by all those girls out there whose had sex with someone who you’d just love to take revenge on. As the main character finds herself born with unnatural features that dooms all men that tries to lay their slimy hands on her. Her out of control man eating vagina goes on a rampage and threatens the lives of all those who love her. If you liked Hard Candy, you might find this movie as a newer twist on life as both movies were very enjoyable to watch.

This remake of Thai horror, mystery, thriller, unravels a spiritual world through the lens of a camera. A spirit world threatens the lives of 3 photographers working in Tokyo, Japan. As this mystery unveils itself, we find a haunting spirit is trying to contact the physical world. An interesting movie, which I thought would be worse. The creditability of TV actors on the big screen such as Joshua Jackson who played Pacey Witter from Dawson’s Creek shows a growing success in TV actors. Shutter contains contrasting images between Eastern and Western worlds within its theme set. Like Lost in Translation. These Asian-American culture clashes, expresses different ideals for commonality within social relationships between east and west.

When it comes to apocalyptic movies, I am a big fan of them. They get better and better as this one takes us right into the heart of New York City. One of the hardest places to film. Especially something as a big production as filming an empty Manhattan plaque by a virus that turns everyone into blood thirsty zombies. That’s what makes this film so much more exciting to see. A few movies have taken the shot at the apocalypse of New York. Movies such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Cloverfield, Godzilla(1998), Escape from New York, The Day After Tomorrow and King Kong. Capturing the movies in New York is one of the hardest and expensive things to do so why bother?

Because everyone loves movies in New York City and apocalyptic movies in any big city is a hard feat to accomplish. There is a new connection, we as movie goers get from watching New York being destroyed, post 9/11. Perhaps a sense of alleviated pain by seeing how things could be worse? Or is it something else?

Don’t you love watching a trailer that gets you off your seat, running to the movie theaters, only to find that the movie was nothing as exciting as the trailer? Almost every single high point of the trailer was exactly all the high points of the movie? Well, then you gotta see the trailer for The Ruins, because it’ll save you the time to actually go and watch the movie.

Your curiosity is probably ringing by now. Save yourself, don’t answer. Watching the actual movie will only spoil the mystery of having not seen the movie. It’s a symbolic horror movie for potheads. If you thought the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm St. movies were good, you’ll looooove this! Except there is a new serial killer on the loose running wild in The Ruins as we vacation the jungles of Mexico.
