Forbidden Kingdom creates history by bringing together two famous martial artists for the first time, Jet Li and Jackie Chan. They fight side by side within a new dimension of a spirit world reflecting ancient China. An American teen obsessed with Kung Fu, stumbles upon a magic staff that transports him there to deliver the staff to its proper owner.
All in all, the film delivers an authentic style of ancient china. The movie raises some small cultural issues in how the movie is delivered from an American movie studio to please an American movie audience in comparison it to other Chinese Martial Art films. The movie targets the younger generation, to continue and instill the ongoing generation of Chinese Kung Fu. This is a great self standing movie, I do not see as a sequel. Could it be the last time we see Jackie Chan and Jet Li together on screen?

Kung Fu Panda is definately one for the martial arts film industry. Martial art movies have been exploding in creativity and humor, a nice addition to the vicious martial art movies kicking ass like Steven Segal, Jet Li, Bruce Lee type action. Movies like Beverly Hills Ninja, Kung Fu Hustle create an innovation in humor churning a funny style of kung fu. Much like how Drunken Master did. Of course no martial arts film is without the student who finds martial arts as a path towards overcoming the present into the future by learning martial arts. Starting from the Karate Kid to recent movie the Forbidden Kingdom. It’s not much of a parody, rather than a iconic representation of various animal chinese kung fu styles and throwing in a panda as the humorous element much like throwing in Chris Farley and putting a ninja suit on him. The movie is authenthic to the Chinese culture and is a good hearted movie to be enjoyed by all.
