When it comes to apocalyptic movies, I am a big fan of them. They get better and better as this one takes us right into the heart of New York City. One of the hardest places to film. Especially something as a big production as filming an empty Manhattan plaque by a virus that turns everyone into blood thirsty zombies. That’s what makes this film so much more exciting to see. A few movies have taken the shot at the apocalypse of New York. Movies such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Cloverfield, Godzilla(1998), Escape from New York, The Day After Tomorrow and King Kong. Capturing the movies in New York is one of the hardest and expensive things to do so why bother?
Because everyone loves movies in New York City and apocalyptic movies in any big city is a hard feat to accomplish. There is a new connection, we as movie goers get from watching New York being destroyed, post 9/11. Perhaps a sense of alleviated pain by seeing how things could be worse? Or is it something else?

If you’re in the mood for some fantasy, adventure and romance, this one will surely send you into another dimension full of witches, pirates and very delicious medieval fairy tale. Stardust reminded me of Terry Gilliam’s Time Bandits. Treading through a visual array of magic and wonder. We follow a young man’s heart to the very end where collides with his destiny.
Robert Dinero takes a surprising and hilarious role in the movie. It makes it tens times better knowing that a guy like Robert Dinero can do these fun characters in addition to his well know reputation of being an Italian mobster/ gangster/ tough-guy type. As well as Michelle Pfeiffer who still looks wonderful and beautiful as an old witch. The entire movie is just oodles of fun and magic.

A bulk of Indian movies are based on love and this one is no different. This movie has love, dreams, aspirations, drama and musical. A movie to fall in love with, I have to give this movie a big rave review. It’s silly, cheesy and musical, characteristics I’ve come to dislike within movies. It’s a dead sport except when it comes to movies like Dancer in the Dark with Bjork to Matthew Boddrick in the Producers. Musical Memories of watching John Travola dancing and singing in Grease and classics like Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly is something of the past. The only time you’d see this type of movie is within the Disney movies. This movie parodies Hollywood’s glam and fashion world of becoming a famous actor.
Memorizing beautiful, sweet actress Deepika Padukone‘s past includes a list of modeling and music videos and now makes a recent debut hit here with Om Shanti Om. Someone to look out for in the near future.
If you’re looking for a good Indian movie to get a taste of Bollywood’s movie flavor, here is a great place to start. You will love this movie, I know I did.
